The Hungry Elephant

Trying out this blog thing. Check back for some sweet recipes!! The first one I’ll upload is for homemade mozza sticks and they are DELICIOUS. I have a simplified version with cheese strings which makes it easier to bake..

What you’ll need:

Mozzarella cheese (i use the 1/2 package of cheese strings, cut in half and then frozen)
1/2 cup flour
1 egg (whisked)
1cup panko (or bread crumbs)
salt and pepper to taste (with the panko)

I usually cut in half and freeze the cheese strings for about an hour before hand. It makes it much easier to handle later.

Once frozen, roll the frozen cheese string in the flour, then roll in the egg. Once you’ve covered it with egg, roll it in the panko making sure it is thoroughly covered. Dip back into the egg again and then back into the panko. Cover it thoroughly again and place on a cookie sheet. (I’d recommend putting some foil down on that, it can get messy) Repeat with the rest of the cheese strings and then bake at 350 until golden brown! Mmmmmmmm cheese.
