Looking for something hot and spicy to warm you up? This spicy beef ramen soup recipe is one of our favourites for sure. It is super easy to make and mostly cooked in one pot. The delicious soup gets it spicy flavour from being cooked with scotch bonnet peppers. Alternatively, you could use jalapenos, chili peppers or even top it with some sriracha.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups low sodium beef broth
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 4 brussel sprouts, halfed
  • 1 scotch bonnet pepper, halfed & deseeded
  • handful of mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Chinese 5 Spice
  • 1 egg – hard or soft boiled
  • handful chopped chives
  • sliced beef
  • Ramen noodles (i used 2 packs)

So first things first, what you’ll want to do is bring the broth to a boil in a pot, add in the garlic and let simmer on medium for a few minutes. Then you’ll want to add in the brussel sprouts, mushrooms, chives, 5 spice and scotch bonnet peppers. Again, let it simmer so that the peppers will infuse the broth and it will start getting spicy.

Once it’s been simmering for maybe 5 minutes, add in the ramen noodles and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. That’s it, it’s pretty much done. Take it off the heat source and pour it into a bowl (leave the scotch bonnet peppers). Top with the egg (cut in half) and your beef!

and that’s my spicy beef ramen soup recipe! If you want to make it a bit spicier, top it with sriracha. I wouldn’t recommend eating the peppers whole though, I’d take them out.
