A staple of the winter season, gingerbread cookies are super easy to make and are great to sit around the fire with, with a glass of milk.
The thing about some cookies is that despite seeming easy to make, sometimes they run or sometimes they are super crumbly.. (or maybe it’s just me because I’m horrible at baking) but these gingerbread cookies are pretty non-fail.
What you will need:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups flour (all-purpose)
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
- white sugar for decoration!
In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oil, molasses and egg. In a separate boil, mix together the dry ingredients. Slowly stir that into the oil mixture. Stir stir stir!
Roll the dough into balls in your hand then roll in the white sugar.
Place the cookie balls on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes.
