Legit probably the easiest and quickest dinner. It’s so simple and tastes super delicious. Now, when you think bourbon chicken, you think of putting the alcoholic drink in there. You could – but this recipe doesn’t use it. The food actually is named after Bourbon Street in New Orleans and many recipes do actually use bourbon.

What you’ll need:

  • 3 cooked chicken breasts – chopped
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

In a pan, combine the oil, garlic, ginger, chilli, ketchup, broth, sugar, soy sauce and red wine vinegar. Bring to a bowl. Add in the cornstarch and stir occasionally until it has thickened up a bit.

Drop in the chicken and mix together until the meat is covered in the sauce.

SO EASY. You’re done! Serve over a hot bed of rice. VOILA.
