The Hungry Elephant

It’s that time of year! Men and women are scrambling to find a delicious dish to serve their significant other for Valentines. Instead of last minute booking, try making this SUPER easy delicious dish at home. It’s definitely easy enough for the basic cook. This valentines for the beginner cook consists of seasoned pork chops, asparagus and twice-baked chilli potatoes.

For this recipe, I teamed up with Grill Masters Club and used two of their products for this delicious meal.

What you will need:

  • pork chops
  • already baked potatoes
  • bunch of asparagus
  • 1 tbsp SuckleBusters Chilli Seasoning
  • SuckleBusters rib & pork rub
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper
  • dashes of paprika

The first thing to do should be the potatoes, they take the most time. Throw your potatoes in the microwave and heat them up until they are done.

Lay your potato down and cut a small portion out of the top. Scoop out the potato inside and put in a separate bowl. Continue with the other potatoes.

Mash the bowl of potato. Mix in the butter, sour cream and chilli seasoning. Once mixed together, scoop the potatoes BACK into the hollow shell. Bake at 350 for roughly half an hour or until crisp.

Then it’s time for the pork. Super easy, just rub the seasoning on meat and throw on the BBQ. Cook on medium until it’s done. (It should not be red inside, and should be white meat when you cut through it)

And now, finally, the asaparagus. In a bowl, mix together the oil, salt, pepper and paprika. Brush onto the asparagus and throw on the BBQ. Cook until its slightly charred.

You’re DONE! You’ve made your Valentine dinner! Put it all onto a plate, top the pork with either caramelized onions or apple sauce. YUM.
