Sweet with a hint of a tangy Granny Smith. These maple stuffed apples are super yummy, and kinda taste like the yummy maple & brown sugar oatmeal! (Minus the oats)

These are a good treat for a warm winter day! Luckily they don’t take too long to make. The recipe calls for bowls of water. This is critical unless you want your apples to go brown.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 bowls of water
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Maple syrup

The best way to do this is to skin one apple at a time, so they dont go brown. So go ahead and do the first one.

After that’s done, cut it in half and take out the core & seeds. Scoop out the rest, leaving behind a 1/2 apple shell. Put the shell in one bowl of water and the innards (minus the core) in the other.

Continue with the other apple.

Scoop out your apple innards from the water bowl. Dry them off with a towel and put back in the bowl, minus the water. Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix together.

Take out your shells from the water and spoon your maple apple mi into the shells. Put on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 until apples are soft and somewhat brown.
