Winterlicious 2017

Well, it’s the new year and you know what that means Toronto! Winterlicious 2017. We are just WEEKS away from the start of a highly anticipated culinary week and we have to say, this years events are looking to be the best ever.

There’s tons of events for the food lover to join. So grab your apron or your fork and get ready. Here’s a sneak peak of what you can find in this years Winterlicious. (Most restaurants have a lunch or dinner option between $28 and $48)

Against The Grain is packing some SERIOUS heat this season. This Cherry Beach tavern is bringing some delicious boar pizza, asian calimari and vegetarian butter tarte donut (um yes, please!) to the menu.. BUT there’s much more. You’ll just have to find out for yourself!

Benihana Steakhouse located inside the Fairmont Royal York is cooking up some yummy fresh beef and seafood right at your table. The 48 buck dinner includes a starter, meal and dessert (exciting chef tricks included).

If you’re in the mood for a little Mediterranean, the shrimp bisque at Chiado sounds ah-mazing. They also are serving up some grilled squid with roasted potatoes. If that doesn’t float your boat, there’s always the lightly crusted pan roasted cod. YUM.

And then there’s Lisbon by Night. The Dundas Street restaurant is offering the ever delicious piripiri Portuguese style chicken or grilled calimari. But I literally don’t even care because PASTEL DE NATA’S ARE ON THE DESSERT LIST. Damn those custard tarts are DELICIOUS.

If you’re looking for a little more hands on experience, maybe learn a few cooking tips etc. Don’t fret! There’s tons going on.

Celebrate 150 years of Canadian Cuisine at Casa Loma! What better place to learn about the history behind some Canadian kitchen staples. It runs every Saturday & Sunday during Winterlicious 2017. $65

FUSE Restaurant is teaming up with Chef Jerome Bishop. He and his team will spend a night highlighting the influence of the Caribbean people to Canada’s soul. The three course dinner includes Jamaican ribs and BBQ snapper! $60

Chef Mark McEwan is coupling with the Aga Khan Museum in east Toronto for a four course dinner inspired by the current museum exhibit, Syria: A Living History. The Syrian food is accompanied by a delightful Jazz musician. Afterwards, guests will have an opportunity to explore the exhibit. $105

Don’t forget, there’s also an interactive murder mystery dinner at the Mysteriously Yours Dinner Theatre. Enjoy a 4-course Canadian-inspired meal (maple glazed salmon, beer braised beef… need I say more?) all while eyeing the guests suspiciously in hopes to find out who is the culprit.
