This low carb donut recipe is fairly simple and based off my donut holes! SO delicious.

If you want to make the simple treats, you can just use vanilla and sugar substitute but if you want to take it up a notch, I HIGHLY recommend adding in either OooFlavours ‘vanilla cupcake’ flavour or Skinny Syrup birthday cake syrup. I added the birthday cake flavour and it honestly tasted like a donut from a shop!

Make sure when you are deep frying to take all safety precautions. I deep fried these on low (but it depends on your stovetop to be honest). You want these to take at least 5-7 minutes to cook. If it browns in under 1-2 minutes then the heat it too high and the inside won’t be cooked properly.

Hope you all enjoy! These are my new favourite!

FILLING

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, whey isolate, sugar substitute, xanthan gum and baking powder.

Add in the eggs, sour cream, vanilla and any other flavourings.

Whisk together until a thick batter forms. Set aside while you heat up the oil.

Once the oil is up to temperature, drop in a golf ball sized ball into the oil.

Fry for 5-7 minutes until it becomes a dark golden brown.

Continue to cook the rest of the donuts.

Let them cool.

Stir together the ingredients for the filling.

Use a piping bag and nozzle to puncture a hole in the side, bottom or top of the donut and fill with the cream.

Continue to fill the rest of the donuts.

Enjoy!

This makes around 8 donuts.
